Social Media isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. We’re all told we should be on Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram etc. but do we really know why?
I’ve heard the following statements so many times. “Social Media doesn’t work for my business” or “I tried it once but never got any business from it”.
The truth of the matter is this. Posting once a day to Facebook without putting much thought behind your overall strategy. If done properly, social media can be an extremely useful tool for your business which in turn through time will generate sales but if you’re looking for overnight success, you’re wasting your time.
I’ve broken down a number of reasons why you should be using Social Media which I hope you find useful.
Increase Your Brand Awareness
Like it or not, we now live in a digital age and we can either choose to get on board with it or let the competition soak up their share of potential business. Not only can you be posting through your business’ page but you can join specific groups, hangouts if you like where your ideal target customers will be watching.
People make the majority of their buying decisions online now and with just over half the population using social media, by not being active, you are missing out on a whole lot of potential revenue. Remember, if people don’t know about your business, they can’t buy from your business!
Stay Top Of Mind
The vast majority of Social Media users will log in at least once each day so by posting regular, engaging content, they’ll get to see what is going on with your business each time they do.
Even If they don’t need to order any print at that specific moment, by continuously engaging with them on Social Media, who do you think they are most likely to order from the next time they do have something to send to print?
Remarketing
How many people do you think visit your website once or twice never to be heard of again? Or worse, let’s say you have an online print shop, someone adds one of your products to their shopping cart and abandons the sale last minute. Do you have a plan or a process in place to counter this?
Thanks to tracking tools like Facebook Pixel, you can show these potential customers specific adverts relating to the products they viewed on your website or adding to their shopping cart.
To Provide Support To Your Customers.
Being active on social media has made it even easier for your customers and can even have a positive impact on your ability to provide support to them. It’s important to give your customers the option of how they contact you and in this day and age, social media is often favoured over Telephone or email.
This is your opportunity to display that you are a responsive and caring business. Create a system or use one of the ticketing systems I recommend in The Print Business Bootcamp. Be sure to track customer’s comments and concerns, respond to them promptly, and always be mindful that potential new buyers are watching.
To Build Authenticity
Customers want to know the true values that sit behind your brand. Don't just sell sell sell on your social media platforms like 99% of the other printers out there.
Showcase the personality within your business, let them see what you stand for, share your expertise, tell them what makes you different from the rest, show them how they can benefit from your print products. Handled correctly, you can nurture great relationships through social media.
